SUMMARY OF 'LOVE IS A FALLACY'

He was only eighteen yet he has such a great intellect. Unlike his roommate at the university, Petey Bellows, Petey was of the same age, a nice companion but was a dumb fellow. He was crazy, idiot boy. In every new mania that comes along, he surrendered himself to idiocy. Once, he found Petey lying on his bed and seemed to be I great trouble. Petey wanted a raccoon coat just because it was the new craze on the campus. Petey said that he would give anything for a raccoon coat. It so happened that he knew where to get a raccoon coat but with one condition. He had long desire for Petey’s girl, Polly Espy. Polly was a beautiful, gracious woman but as dumb as Petey.

He had promised Petey to bring a raccoon coat. When he was back from a weekend vacation, he asked Petey to decide whether he would give Polly to him or no raccoon coat. Petey was so dedicated to the raccoon coat.

He and Polly were out for their first date. He went back with a heavy heart. He thought Polly needed to be taught to think. On their second date, he taught Polly about the fallacies of logic. For the next three days of patience and dedication, it was the same. They had completed the eight common fallacies of logic.

The time had come to express to Polly what his feelings for the girl are. But it seemed to be that Polly was smarter than he was. Within those five days of teaching Polly, he didn’t expect it to be that complicated. For every thought he said to her, Polly would contradict by using the fallacies she learned from him.

It was like he was struck by lightning when he new that Polly would go steady with his roommate, Petey Bellows. Petey had fooled him. Polly surely have one logical reason why she should go steady with Petey and it’s because of his raccoon coat.
